Arts

Ori-Arab origami camel mark with radiating fold lines on yellow.

OVERVIEW

Ori-Arab began with its founder's origami hobby, which grew into requests for custom gifts and artwork. As people asked to learn the craft themselves, he developed the idea into an Arabic-language educational platform, starting in the UAE. Its purpose is to help people use their free time creatively while building new skills.

CHALLENGE

Most origami learning materials are in English, and many designs have little connection to Arab culture. The art is also often seen as an activity only for children. Ori-Arab needed to make it culturally relevant and show its value to a wider audience.

APPROACH

We connected origami with Arab culture through an Arabic-language curriculum and a brand centered on Aesthetic Communication. The name combines "Ori", from origami, with "Arab", grounding a global craft in a local identity and presenting it as a way to express ideas, stories, and cultural pride.

RESULT

An origami camel anchors the identity in Arab heritage. Four modular pattern directions, custom icons inspired by paper folding, and layered paper textures create a flexible visual system. Color, depth, and a tactile feel connect the educational brand to the craft it teaches.
